Thank you Karine, for your kind words.
Hi, we're BTS. And it is great honor to be invited to the White House today to discuss important issues of anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian inclusion and diversity.
친절한 소개 감사합니다. 방판소년단입니다.
오늘 백악관에 초청받아서 반아시아계 혐오범죄, 아시아계 포용 그리고 다양성에 대해 논의하는 자리를 가지게 되어 정말 큰 영광입니다.
진(김석진) :
오늘은 AANHPI Health month의 마지막 날입니다. 저희는 AANHPI 커뮤니티와 뜻을 함께하고 기념하기 위해 오늘 백악관에 왔습니다.
Today marks the last day of the AANHPI Health Month. And we're here to support the AANHPI community and also celebrate this moment with them.
지민(박지민) :
네. 최근 아시아계를 대상으로 한 많은 증오 범죄에 굉장히 놀랐고 또 마음이 안 좋았는데요. 이런 일이 근절되는 데에 조금이라도 도움이 되고자 오늘 이 자리를 빌어 목소리를 내고자 합니다.
So we've seen, recently, a surge in Asian hate crimes. And I was appalled by that and also heartbroken. And we're here today hoping that we can contribute to eradicationg this problem.
제이홉(정호석) :
네. 오늘 저희가 이 자리에 올 수 있었던 것은 저희의 음악을 사랑해 주시는 다양한 국적, 언어, 문화를 가진 세계의 팬, 아미 여러분들이 계셨기에 이 자리에 올 수 있었다고 생각합니다. 정말 감사합니다.
And we could be here today thanks to our fans, armies, who come from different countries, speak different languages and also are from different cultures. What binds them together is their love for our music. And it's all thanks to you guys, and I truly appreciate that.
정국(전정국) :
한국인의 음악이 서로 다른 언어와 문화를 넘어서 전세계 많은 분들께 닿을 수 있다는 게 아직까지도 좀 신기하고, 어 네. 신기한 것 같습니다. 그리고 이 모든 걸 연결을 시켜 주는 음악이란 건 참으로 휼륭한 매개체가 아닌가 싶습니다.
It's still hard to believe that K-pop can go beyond the boundaries of languages and cultures and reach and appeal to a lot of fans around the world. I believe music, which is the one binding factor here is such an amazing toll that can unite us together.
슈가(민윤기) :
나와 다르다고 그것은 잘못된 일이 아닙니다. 옮고 그림이 아닌 다름을 인정하는 것으로부터 평등은 시작된다고 생각합니다.
So being different doesn't mean being wrong. So it's not a matter of right or wrong. And our journey towards a more equal society starts from recognizing and understanding each other's differences.
뷔 (김태형) :
네. 우리는 모두의 각자의 역사를 가지고 있습니다. 오늘 한 사람, 한 사람이 의미있는 존재로서 서로 존중하고 이해하기 위한 또 한걸임이 되기를 바랍니다.
We all come from different historical backgrounds. I hope today's event will mark as an occasion that providees an opportunity to respect each other as a valuable human being and also understand each other better.
RM (김남준) :
And lastly, we thank Preisdent Biden and the White House for giving this important opportunity to speak about the important causes. We remind ourselves of what we can do as artists. Once again, thank you very much.
